BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Greg Wise under fire for his dance choice for week two


Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Wise has faced criticism for his choice of dance for the second week of the show.

Along with his partner Karen Hauer, Greg will dance to impress the judges and the audience, as Week Two is the first week a contestant is eliminated from the BBC One dance show.

While the dances and songs for week two were confirmed, Greg announced on Twitter that he and Venezuelan dancer Karen will be dancing the Couples Choice dance on If You Could Read My Mind by Ultra Naté, Amber, Jocelyn Enriquez.

This is the first Couples Choice dance in the series and it came as a shock to fans as Couples Choice dances are usually chosen much later in the series.

The Couples Choice Category was introduced in 2018 and allows couples to choose from three different dance styles – Contemporary, Street / Commercial, and Theater and Jazz – and pick the one that they think best showcases ability. celebrity dance.

The most successful Couples Choice routine to date is that of Steps singer Faye Tozer, who performed a theater and jazz routine during Halloween week with Giovanni Pernice.

Katie and Gorka will dance a Jive on Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U.

Rose and Giovanni will dance a salsa to the Gibson Brothers song Cuba.

Judi and Graziano hope to impress the judges with their Samba to Get Busy by Sean Paul.

Nina and Neil will perform a Tango on the song Would I Lie To You? By Eurythmy.

Sara and Alijaz – who were at the bottom of the leaderboard in week one – are hoping for better scores with their Cass Elliot Foxtrot to Dream A Little Dream Of Me.

Tilly and Nikita will dance the first Charleston in the series on Yes Sir! It’s My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two.

Adam and Katya will perform a quick Quickstep for Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet.

John and Johannes will dance a Cha Cha on Starstruck by Years & Years.

Dan and Nadiya will also perform the series’ first Paso Doble on the song Giant by Calvin Harris and Rag N Boneman.

Rhys and Nancy hope to impress with a Cha Cha to Reach Out, I’ll Be There by Human Nature.

Ugo and Oti hope to climb higher in the rankings with a Quickstep to Bring Me Sunshine from The Jive Aces.

Robert and Diane will perform a Tango at La Cumparsita by Machiko Ozawa.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
